Creating Backorders and Other Supply Advisory Events

In addition to Recall Events, Suppliers can create Supply Advisory events for issues such as Backorders and Shortages. Use this functionality to communicate to Providers your organization's plans to mitigate the impact of the event.

Creating Supply Advisory Events

Administrators and Supply Advisory Coordinators will see the Supply Advisories tab on their platform view. Click on the Supply Advisories tab to see a list of Supply Advisory events for your organization. Look at the product update announcement for an example of a Supply Advisory event.

  1. Click on Add to create a new event.
  2. Enter required information in the fields listed. Field list details are provided below.
  3. Attach any relevant documents.
  4. List links to any helpful online content under Additional Resources.
  5. Enter a brief Description of the event.
  6. Enter guidance you wish to provide in the Alternatives & Conservation Measures area.

Click Next at the bottom of the screen.

Product List

Adding products is optional. However, to add specific product information, click Add Product and enter teh details. For more information, please read "Adding a Product list."

Actions

Include any actions you want your Providers to complete or questions you would like them to answer regarding the event. It is recommended that you include at least one question or action. Consider adding, "Please inform others in your organization about this disruption event." with a checkbox as the response type.

Affected Locations

Add the list of Affected Locations related to this disruption event. For more information, please see Step 4 in the article about creating a recall event.

Required Fields Descriptions

Product Disruption Name - the name listed for the event.

Product Disruption ID - the identification number or code for the event. This comes from the supplier's system if they use ID's for tracking events.

Type - various Product Disruption events such as backorder, market event, and Shortage

Disruption Date - the date the disruption begins

Next Expected Update - when Providers can expect to receive an update from you

Description - provide an explanation of the event as well as the ways your organization plans to address potential impact to customers

Alternatives and Conservation Measures - provide a list of other products, protocols, or or practices Providers can use while the event occurs.
