Creating Backorders and Other Supply Advisory Events - Providers

Creating Supply Advisory Events

Administrators and Sourcing Coordinators will see the Supply Advisory tab on their platform view. Click on the Supply Advisory tab to see a list of Supply Advisory events for your organization. Suppliers use this feature to communicate supply disruptions to your organization. You may also add Supply Advisory events and communicate internally as well. To add a Supply Advisory:

  1. Click on Add to create a new event.
  2. Enter required information. Please see the list of required information at the bottom of this screen.
  3. Attach any relevant documents.
  4. List links to any helpful online content under Additional Resources.
  5. Enter a brief Description of the event.
  6. Enter guidance you wish to provide in the Alternatives & Conservation Measures area.

Click Save and Close at the bottom of the screen.

Required Fields Descriptions

Supplier Name: name of the manufacturer

Product Disruption Name - the name listed for the event

Product Disruption ID - the identification number or code for the event. The Supplier may provide this ID or Providers may use this field for ID's from their own tracking methods.

Type - drop down list of different kinds of Product Disruption events, e.g. Market Event, Shortage

Disruption Date - date the disruption begins

Next Expected Update - let your providers know when they should expect an update from you

Description - provide a description of the event as well as the ways your organization is planning to address potential impact

Alternatives and Conservation Measures - provide guidance on alternative products or recommended measures for your team to use until the supply event is over.
